Bipasha regrets for not being paired with SRK

She has undoubtedly the hottest curves in B-town. Her decade long affair with Bollywood has been a mix of all kinds of genres. She has witnessed the highs and lows of being the most sought after actress in town. Having been there and done that, the actress still harbors regret. A regret she cannot come to terms with.

Despite having three consecutive flops-DUM MAARO DUM, PLAYERS and JODI BREAKERS, Bipasha is working hard to put things together and give a fitting reply to her critics. Though Bips has films like SINGULARITY, RACE 2 and RAAZ 3 in her kitty, the actress regrets not having worked with Shahrukh Khan so far.

Speaking about it, Bipasha says, ''There are a lot of people who I want to work with. But I really want to work with Shahrukh. I hope it happens soon. It is my biggest regret so far that I have not been able to pair with him in any film in the last 10 years of my career.''

While Bipasha is making all efforts to pair up with SRK, let's hope King Khan does not miss the die-hard fan in her this time around.

Shah Rukh Khan fan in UK waits a week for kiss

A Shah Rukh Khan fan in the UK has revealed that she waited a week to receive a kiss from the actor.

Dancer-actor Vishwani Sharma had been working with lead stars Khan and Katrina Kaif, on the London schedule of the Yash Chopra-directed film.

Sharma revealed to Digital Spy: "After the wrap, I waited for SRK outside the room that he was apparently sitting in with Kat.

"He came out and looked at me, then I shouted through the door, 'SRK can I get a hug, kiss and a photo from you? I have been waiting patiently and impatiently for this moment'."

The 19-year-old had been filming on the Yash Raj Films production across a number of locations in central London and Surrey.

Sharma went on to add: "He came up to me and hugged me, gave me a kiss, and told me to give him one as well. He said 'God bless you' to me,

"I also told him that I want to work opposite him one day, and he politely said, 'Sure honey, we will', which made my night."

Khan is expected to return to India at the weekend when the film's UK schedule finishes.

SRK slashes IPL rates

Shah Rukh Khan has done a Mukul Roy to IPL tickets at the Eden Gardens.

The Kolkata Knight Riders owner, who is also Bengal’s brand ambassador, has lowered the prices of a majority of the tickets for IPL V compared with last year’s edition.

“This year the tickets have been priced at Rs 300, Rs 400 and Rs 500 for the different tiers. The lowest is lower than last year’s,” said Biswarup Dey, the joint secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal.

Last year, the rates were Rs 400, Rs 500 and Rs 900.

The CAB has nothing to do with the ticket pricing, which is the prerogative of the franchisee owner concerned. At Eden, SRK takes the final call.

News of the slash in the ticket prices came on a day newly appointed railway minister Mukul Roy announced a partial rollback of the fare hike proposed by predecessor and party colleague Dinesh Trivedi in his budget speech last week.

While Roy announced the rollback following orders from Mamata Banerjee, it could not be confirmed whether any word from Writers’ played a role in SRK’s decision.

A senior state government official, however, saw economics behind the apparently populist move.

“If tickets at any stadium are sold at Rs 500 or less, the proceeds do not attract entertainment tax, calculated at 20 per cent of the ticket price,” said an official, offering an explanation for capping the IPL rates at Rs 500.

Apart from these three categories, there will be tickets for premium viewers that will come under the entertainment tax ambit.

This year, Writers’ sources said, the franchisee owner has been asked to pay around Rs 31 lakh as initial deposit for entertainment tax. “The final amount will be decided on the basis of the proceeds from ticket sales,” said the official.

Savings on entertainment tax — the outgo on this account was over Rs 2 crore — alone cannot be the reason behind the rate rejig, said a CAB official.

In the fourth edition of IPL in 2011, the KKR management had been forced to bring down the ticket prices from Rs 500, Rs 900 and Rs 1,200 to Rs 400, Rs 500 and Rs 900 after Eden witnessed near-empty stands in the first few matches.

“Price is a touchy issue with the people of Calcutta and King Khan must have realised it through his association with the city,” said the official.

If KKR sources are to be believed, SRK will formally launch himself as the brand ambassador of the state from the stands at Eden.

“In keeping with the chief minister’s wish of showcasing the cultural face of Bengal, he is planning a performance by a Bangla band and a chhou dance recital on the day of KKR’s first match on April 5,” said a source. “The focus is on Brand Bengal. So there will be dhakis in the galleries and cheer girls will turn up in saris.”

Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana clicks ‘coolest’ pic of her dad!

Shahrukh Khan gets his official photographer! The superstar has been in the industry for over two decades now and has been shot wonderfully by many top photographers, but a simple pic clicked by his daughter Suhana gave SRK his coolest picture ever.

Shahrukh Khan, who is in London, recently posted an image of him clicked by the beti dearest Suhana. “my lil girl took this pic of mine. i think its the coolest i have ever looked. thanx suhana...my official fotographer,” SRK posted on his twitter account. (see the image)

No sooner did Shahrukh post the “coolest” pic than his fans started praising Suhana for her talent.

@OlgaGOA: @iamsrk big hugs to ur princess! and to ur - kisses :D love u! Long Live Life KING with ur princess! Prince Aryan and Queen Gauri!

‏@prats_39 : @iamsrk Thats one lil girls unfettered love for you...god bless both of you..love

The sweet father loves posting pictures of them especially of his daughter Suhana. Like it is always said that fathers are fond of their daughters, Shahrukh too is quite close to his daughter and even fears her. Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa 1993 Movie Full

Ram Gopal Varma takes a dig at Shahrukh Khan and his kids!

Ram Gopal Varma is one such daring Bollywood filmmaker, who doesn't fear blasting any of the B-town's biggies. RVG's latest target is the superstar Shahrukh Khan.

We all have known SRK's dedicated and love towards his children Aaryan and Suhana. Despite being the tinsel town's King Khan or the Baadshah, Shahrukh is quite friendly and a cool dad. But SRK's this fatherly attitude has not gone well with RGV.

Varma indirectly insulted SRK on twitter. He tweeted, “If all children are so innocent nd have beautiful hearts how come most of them grow up to become bastards?” RGV wrote this on twitter after Shahrukh posted, "Missing my lil boy and girl....they have such small lovely hands....and such large beautiful hearts (sic).”

Shahrukh Khan doesn’t want to be a cop like Salman Khan or Aamir Khan!

Both Salman Khan and Aamir Khan are happy to play cops in their films Dabangg 2 and Talaash, but Shahrukh Khan doesn’t want to join the bandwagon. The superstar has declined Gautam Menon’s cop film for the remake of A.R. Murugadoss’s Tamil film Ramana.

Earlier there were reports that Shahrukh Khan is confused between two films. Coincidentally, both the films are remakes of two superhit Tamil films. Director Gautham Menon wanted Shahrukh for the remake of Vettiyadu Villayadu, a cop film; while A.R. Murugadoss approached the King Khan for the remake of Ramana, a film about an anti-corruption crusader.

And now according to the latest buzz, Shahrukh Khan has signaled his nod to Murugadoss for Ramana remake. The film, which is being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has been on the cards for a while; apparently Bhansali has been meeting the star quite regularly for narrations.

The sources claim that Shahrukh showed interest in Bhansali’s project because, “Both his rivals Aamir and Salman are coming up with cop films, and he did not want to join the gang. He was looking for something strong yet sensitive, and this seemed like the perfect choice.”

Also Murugadoss’s last Hindi film Ghajini was an all-time blockbuster and Shahrukh Khan was keen to work with him. In the Ramana remake, Shahrukh would play a common man, who takes on the corrupt system. Shahrukh has never played a part like this before, and the film will help him to connect with the audience.

Shah Rukh Khan as Jawaharlal Nehru ?

This diarist was the first to tell you about Oscar nominated filmmaker Bruce Beresford's trip to the city and the party thrown in his honour. Let us also be the first ones to tell you about what really transpired in the plush Juhu bungalow where the dinner was hosted by well-known dentist Dr Pradhan.

Beresford, who is here to talk about his upcoming film on Indira Gandhi, found himself in the midst of hopefuls who were more than keen to be a part of the prestigious project.

Though the party had its fair share of star filmmakers, there was also a significant number of actors who are in the autumn of their careers. It was interesting to watch the Driving Miss Daisy director being wooed by a few yesteryear actresses, but he was gracious enough to sit through it all.

The highlight of the evening, as we can tell you, was a power-point presentation by Beresford's team which used a technology to morph faces of both Hollywood and Bollywood actors into that of the characters from the film.

Among the many whose faces were on the screen were Charlize Theron and Shah Rukh Khan. There was quite a flutter in the room when SRK's face morphed into that of Jawaharlal Nehru. Any more than this, we'd be giving too much away!

Remake Dilemma: Shah Rukh Khan Chooses A.R. Murugadoss Over Gautham Menon

After lots of speculations and guessing games, Shah Rukh Khan, who was said to be in a dilemma over choosing which South director to work for, has now decided to give the nod to the Hindi remake of A. R. Murugadoss' Tamil superhit flick Ramana instead of Gautham Menon's flick.

Sources had claimed that Khan was a bit hesitant about working for Menon, specially after his recent release Ekk Deewana Tha failed to make a splash at the box office and was in favour of working for Murugadoss, whose last release Ghajini starring Aamir Khan, was a superhit.

Ramana revolves around a honest professor, who takes on the corrupt system after suffering a personal tragedy and sources close to the King Khan say that the superstar is quite excited about the project as he has never played such a role before. Khan, who is shooting in London for Yash Chopra's untitled romantic flick, is expected to sigh the film as soon as he gets back.

After Six Pack In Om Shanti Om SRK Is Bulking Up Now - Bollywood Hot

Shah Rukh Khan In Farah Khan’s Next

Once upon a time Farah Khan had stated, “Whenever I make a film, it has to have Shah Rukh in it”. But destiny had other plans for her. After her magnum opus Om Shanti Om with SRK under his Red Chillies banner, Farah Khan had offered Baadshah the role of Akshay in Tees Maar Khan. After keeping them waited for months and years, SRK eventually dropped the offer which angered Farah Khan to the core. She went on to announce the film with Akshay without even informing her long time friend Shah Rukh.

The film bombed at the box office and Twitter was flooded with cheap comments. Some even stated, “Farah Khan doing a film without SRK is of no use.” Later things went ugly between the two when Shirish, better known as Farah’s husband, made some sarcastic and snide remarks on Ra.One calling it a fizzled 150 crore firework which fuelled the differences between the two families.
Of late, the much talked slap-fest at Sanjay Dutt’s party gained even more gravitas when Sajid Khan shouldered the responsibility of helping both the families reunite. And voila!
Reportedly after the reconcilement, Farah has made numerous visits at the King’s Den, Mannat. Some sources even confirm that she has offered her movie ‘Happy New Year’ to him yet again. She even went to London to meet SRK, while he is filming for Yash Chopra, to seal the dates and complete other formalities to make the big announcement. SRK, as we heard has finally given his nod to Farah and this time, we wish there are only happy days around the two!

Shah Rukh Khan to get back his 6-pack abs?

Apparently Shah Rukh Khan would be getting back into his 6-pack abs avatar. And no, it is not for Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' which he is supposedly doing.

This time Shah Rukh Khan will beef up his body perhaps for more that the song-and-dance routine. In fact his brawny physique would be put to use for some real hardcore action. And why not when Rohit Shetty is at the helm of affairs!

The buzz is that Shah Rukh Khan would be working overtime for that perfect physique before he starts shooting for Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express. Though not much is known about the story of the film, going by Shetty's style it should be an action-comedy. And for the kind of action that Shetty employs, SRK wants to ensure that he gives his best shot.

Shah Rukh is presently finishing Yash Chopra's film with Katrina Kaif in London. Once he returns to India, he would start training for Chennai Express.

Oscar winning producer praises SRK's My Name Is Khan!!

British producer-politician Lord David Terence Puttnam, who won an Oscar for Chariots Of Fire (1981), was in Mumbai last Friday for a session with the students of Whistling Woods International. And of the recent movies he has seen, the producer admits he was impressed by Karan Johar’s My Name Is

Khan (2010). “It was a charming film, if a little naïve and too long. It had an important message and Shah Rukh Khan was fantastic, striking a sympathetic chord,” says the 71-year-old producer. “Indian filmmakers should learn to trim the length of their movies and be more clued into what’s happening in the west to have a real chance at the Academy Awards.”

Describing this year’s Best Picture, The Artist (2011), as “charming, imaginative, emotional and original”, he doesn’t believe another silent, black-and-white movie would be as successful, pointing out that the novelty factor that worked for the French film would be gone the next time.

Admitting that he didn’t expect to win an Oscar for Chariots Of Fire, the producer adds he was “stunned”. The film is about two athletes in the 1924 Olympics — Eric Liddell, a Scottish Christian, who runs for God, and Harold Abrahams, an English Jew who runs to overcome prejudice. He recalls the widow of one telling them they’d gone wrong with the way her husband ran.

Ask him which film defined him as a filmmaker, and he says it was Local Hero (1983), a comedy-drama that bagged Bill Forsyth the BAFTA for Best Director: “It came at a good point in my life and gave me a chance to go into avenues I hadn’t explored before.”

Ask him about a dream never realised and he says it was a film on Vikram Seth’s novel, A Suitable Boy. “I tried for four years to raise money but couldn’t,” he sighs.

And what’s he taking home from India? “Just memories of my visit to Whistling Woods. My wife, who has accompanied me on my many visits here, has strictly told me not to bring along anything else,” he laughs.

He is a British film producer. His successes include Bugsy Malone (1976), Midnight Express (1978), Local Hero (1983) and Memphis Belle (1990).

His film Chariots of Fire (1981) won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
In 1982, he received the BAFTA Michael Balcon Award for outstanding contribution to the British Film Industry.
