This diarist was the first to tell you about Oscar nominated filmmaker Bruce Beresford's trip to the city and the party thrown in his honour. Let us also be the first ones to tell you about what really transpired in the plush Juhu bungalow where the dinner was hosted by well-known dentist Dr Pradhan.
Beresford, who is here to talk about his upcoming film on Indira Gandhi, found himself in the midst of hopefuls who were more than keen to be a part of the prestigious project.
Though the party had its fair share of star filmmakers, there was also a significant number of actors who are in the autumn of their careers. It was interesting to watch the Driving Miss Daisy director being wooed by a few yesteryear actresses, but he was gracious enough to sit through it all.
The highlight of the evening, as we can tell you, was a power-point presentation by Beresford's team which used a technology to morph faces of both Hollywood and Bollywood actors into that of the characters from the film.
Among the many whose faces were on the screen were Charlize Theron and Shah Rukh Khan. There was quite a flutter in the room when SRK's face morphed into that of Jawaharlal Nehru. Any more than this, we'd be giving too much away!
