Shah Rukh Khan was recently appointed as the brand ambassador of West Bengal, and if reports are to be believed, then Vidya Balan may soon accompany SRK in that spot.
Latest media reports suggest that post the success of Kahaani, which was set against the backdrop of the metropolitan city Kolkata, Vidya might be appointed its brand ambassador.
Vidya is a self-confessed fan of the city and is said to have deep connection with Kolkata. Interestingly, in her debut film Parineeta, Vidya played the character of a Bengali woman. Her love and understanding of the city can be traced to the people around her, from her best friend Raima Sen to her favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who are Bengalis.
She has often declared her love for the art, culture and food of the city.
